Stratford - upon - Avon

Our Shakespeare Trail

Taking in a bit of culture today.

We started with William Shakespeare's birthplace, 23rd April 1664 in Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon then it was great to follow Shakespeare's life: his early years, schooling, courtship and marriage to Anne Hathaway, his years living in a very grand family house, New Place, (which sadly does not exist but a beautiful garden now occupies the position ), Hall's Croft where his eldest daughter, Susanna and her husband lived, then finally his grave in Holy Trinity  Church. He died on the same date as his birth, 23rd April 1616 at the age of just 52.
