Having spent our 48hours in the Bancroft Basin we ventured through the lock and onto the River on a fine afternoon. After taking on water we had a short bimble to a tranquil, peaceful mooring where we enjoyed the evening watching river craft of all sizes making there way up and down the water.

We soon got to grips with the heavy gates and the method of working the large river locks and fortunately after the first two were joined by another narrowboat. We travelled in their company to Bidford - on - Avon, where a Steam Rally was setting up for the weekend on land very close to or mooring.
